Avoid COVID

 I need to remind myself why it’s necessary for me to follow a tight COVID avoidance protocol.

• I have cancer
• Cancer cells continue to grow
• It is not clear how cancer cells and the COVID virus interact
• The Florida Proton Therapy Institute will probably not admit someone with COVID
• COVID infection would cause another substantial delay in my treatment
• There have been several COVID cases in our community
• Members of our family have  encountered people infected with COVID
• Not everyone that we come across sees COVID as a threat
• I have avoided COVID so far
• and I’m an old man
