My Dream Team: Breanna

Each morning after my water ritual I would sit in the waiting room and wait for my Radiation Therapist to escort me back to the yellow gantry. There may be 15 or 20 patients in the waiting room but when Brianna enters the room you know immediately, she had come for you. She always has a big smile and eye contact. Her usual greeting is, “Good morning, Don. Did you do anything exciting yesterday?” And she never made you feel like you had to hurry.

Another aside: I have noticed in most doctors’ offices when the nurse comes into the waiting room to escort you back to the exam room, they are always in a hurry. You almost have to trot to keep up with them.

Brianna has been with the institute since December and has already dealt with over a hundred patients. That’s over one hundred lives she helped to save. How many of us, when we were in our early twenties, had the same sense of accomplishment? I’m fortunate to have her on my team.
